Manufacturing Manager
Summary of Job Description
The Manufacturing/Production Manager is responsible for leading areas of the shop as assigned as well as the material control processes throughout the entire operation. Their duties focus on safely producing quality projects efficiently and on-time. The Manufacturing/Production Manager is also responsible for maintaining a clean facility and keeping all equipment maintained properly. They are required to schedule production, understand engineering drawings, manage inventory/supplies, coordinate preventative maintenance activities, and manage maintenance of the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage assigned area(s) of shop
- Ensure safety protocols are in place and adhered too Ensure all work performed in area of responsibility is compliant with the Grieve Quality Management System
- Manage resources to build equipment and parts per the production scheduleo Create a culture of engagement and employee development
- Establish best practices for processes in areas of responsibility
- Maintain employee accountability in areas of responsibility
Material Control/ Demand Planning
- Manage inventory control processes throughout the entire organization
- Lead Demand Planning activities and work closely with the Purchasing team to ensure zero stock outs of standard components
- Implement Lean tools such as Kanban, 5S, Visual Management Systems
Facilities
- Oversee monthly preventative maintenance plan and ensure compliance
- Keep equipment, tools and, work area in safe and clean operating condition
- Manage internal resources to ensure the cleanliness of the entire facility
- Coordinate internal resources to perform upgrades to the facilities and equipment
- Manage 3rd party contractors to perform inspections and preventative maintenance throughout the facility
- Coordinate activities of third-party janitorial contractor
Special Project Management
- Facility upgrades
- Capital equipment
- Factory layout enhancements
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
- Minimum of Associate Degree and relevant proven experience
- Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics is required
- Experience in Electro-Mechanical environment desired
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes
- Experience managing building maintenance is a plus
- Knowledge of Lean methodologies with practical experience is desired
- Technical Experience (Welding, Sheet Metal, Electrical, Assembly, Quality)
- 5 Years of applicable manufacturing management experience
