SUMMARY

Grieve is a leading manufacturer of industrial ovens & furnaces undergoing an exciting period of growth. We are looking for talented, entrepreneurial, enthusiastic people to join our team.  Our company values challenges, quality work, and work-life balance.  The HR Manager will champion and lead talent acquisition and retention, corporate policy administration, benefits and compensation management, employee development and performance management and employee engagement.  Minor responsibilities include basic reporting, documentation, and administrative work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Talent Acquisition and Retention:

  • Ensure job descriptions exist for all positions across the company.
  • Network with social media and staffing agencies to acquire candidates.
  • Create a Grieve candidate selling strategy to find, attract and retain employees.
  • Create a recruiting pipeline by network with schools, trades, job fairs.
  • Conduct employee interviews and phone screens.
  • Coordinate new hire background check and drug screen.
  • Create on-boarding process and coordinate with hiring manager.
  • Implement plans to enhance employee retention.

Employee Development:

  • Create and drive training and development programs across
  • Ensure compliance to all training and performance management requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback to enhance the company’s performance management process.
  • Champion culture by implementing tools that measure and build culture.
  • First point of contact for employee questions and issues regarding benefits, complaints and general work issues.
  • Actively participate in Union collective bargaining agreement negotiations

Company Policy:

  • Collaborate with Leadership Team to understand organizational policy goals.
  • Maintain company policies and assure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Key member of Safety Committee
  • Complete required insurance and government reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain proper documentation (i.e.: employee injuries, property damage, personnel files, OSHA reporting)
  • Maintain and file corporate and employee documents in a secure manner.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Lead the renewal processes for health (medical, dental, vision, short term and long disability) and Property and Casualty insurance with third party insurance broker(s)
  • Lead and manage employee 401k plans with third party plan sponsor(s)
  • Lead employee benefits research in conjunction with third party broker(s)
  • Assist employees with benefit related questions.
  • Work with Leadership Team to implement and manage compensation plans.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years of relevant HR experience within a manufacturing setting.
  • Illinois Employment and Labor Law knowledge
  • Experience building a company Culture desired.
  • Union background desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) knowledge required.
